This seminar is based upon the premise that a healthy relationship with someone else requires the involvement of
healthy individuals.
The emphasis of the first few classes will be on being a healthy individual, then the focus
will shift to the elements of healthy relationships with others.
Sessions will consist of brief lectures,
'homework' exercises and group discussions/interactions.
The learning objective is not only to better understand
what constitutes a healthy relationship with oneself and with others, but to put those principles into practice.
Purposes
of this seminar include:
- to provide experiences and information that teach self-awareness and support self-esteem;
- to
foster health and growth toward new levels of functioning and fulfillment individually, and through relationship;
- to
increase success in finding and sustaining a satisfying relationship; and
- to build a network of supportive friends
and community.
